The holidays are not always a happy and joyous time for some individuals. Often it is a time of year that brings an exorbitant amount of personal pain and suffering. For some, suicide seems like the only way to escape the pain.
Be sure to check in on those who may be showing signs or are at risk of feeling isolated and depressed. Reach out to them, strike up a conversation, offer them words of encouragement and be sure they know you care. You should also provide them with resources to talk with someone about how they might be feeling in case they can't confide in you.
